Brighten someone’s day

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.
These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life’s pathway,
the good they do is inconceivable.”
~ Joseph Addison

Bring it back to what matters

There’s an interesting poster in the yoga studio I attend. It contains all sorts of sayings that remind me that the best things in life often are free. The sort of things that fit the “stop and smell the roses” arena. Small things that can impact your life in a big way if you just become aware. So, here’s my take. Read, embrace, put some on your to do list. Or, better yet, just do!

Smile.

Do a random act of kindness.

Take in the beauty of something simple.

Make a cup of tea and just sit.

Take your dog for a walk.

Cuddle your cat.

Spend time with your kid or grandkid.

Read a good book.

Enjoy a glass of water out of your best stemware.

Be silly.

Relax.

Breathe.

Give yourself a day off.

Find your glass (life) half full.

Do less.

Love more.

Be in the moment with whatever you’re doing or whomever you’re with.

Figure out what’s right about you.

Single task.

Spend less; enjoy more.

Help out another human being.

Sing in your car.

Eat mindfully – be quiet, appreciate, enjoy.

Connect with someone – friend, family, a stranger.

Do something good for the world.

Follow your heart

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

~ Steve Jobs
