Doing yoga every morning for 30 years is great! I'm sure that really helps keep your body feeling well. Plank is a wonderful core strengthener; I do it every other day. I can't pass on specifics for your unique body about strengthening glutes. I have a few suggestions, though. One would be to Google glute strengthening exercises and see what you find. Also, any sort of program that features that sort of *buns of steel* approach would work. You can't get buns of steel without strengthening that muscle! Another would be to hire a personal trainer for a session or two and get guidance. Or a good massage therapist or other type of body worker who thoroughly understands muscles and how each works. That person also can help you find what would be best for you.

Thanks for the informative post. I can attest to the healthy back & body due to yoga - which I've been doing every morn for over 30 years. But even in the midst of my routine I had some back issues. What detail I found to strengthen my "weak" area was holding the "Plank Posture" for almost a full minute. Now I'm pretty much free from back problems. I'd like to inquire with your daughter (how wonderful to have a consultant right in your family!), could she suggest a glutes strengthening exercise for those of us who don't belong to a gym?

In gratitude, as always,
Elaine

Love how you let us laugh at ourselves ~ ~ yet deliver a soft caution about the coming months. I kind of relish this dark, quiet coming . . . great time to work in my journal and to have classes to stir up creativity and keep connected on a deeper level. I DO have to watch that caffeine stuff tho. Thanks for your kind reminder :)

Great question! VFFs are very lightweight, flat shoes that simulate being barefoot while still protecting your feet. They have a spot for each toe - sort of like gloves for your feet! A mesh-type upper covering, then a thin sole with some nubs for traction.

Happy to provide them, Cathy! I bring a half cup of filtered water to a gentle boil, then stir in an eighth of a teaspoon of the contents from a goldenseal tea bag. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain out the tea leaves - I use a coffee filter inside a strainer. Then stir in an eighth teaspoon of pure sea salt - no additives. (This part creates a saline solution that is appropriate for your eyes.) This is supposed to be kept a week only if refrigerated and a few days if left sitting out, but I have used it far longer with no ill results. But, as always, do what seems right to you, and check with an alternative medical practitioner or your doctor if you have any issues or concerns.
